Customized Class September 25th

September 25th PKD taught a second customized class for a large oil and gas production company.  This class involved 14 particpants, most of whom are involved with flow lines and pipelines in the Eagle Ford Production Area. Participant critique included the following:

  • Provided good basis and refresher on hydraulics
  • Good way to go through regulations without having to get overwhelmed with the actual laws
  • Good overview of the construction process
  • Good graphs and photos and real life examples
  • Very practical.  Good photos.  Best topic yet - about Equipment and Components
  • Good photos and explanation - about Construction
  • Good, simple industry examples of thermo and fluid dynamics
  • Good to have introduction to another area - about Scada and controls
  • Very relevant section especially coming from a mechanical background
  • Hydraulic gradient and curve was new to me
  • Very Good!  Helped me understand the origins of the regulations and tied things together.  Plus good references
  • Liked the cost optimization example the best
  • Good discussion on strapping and gauging
  • Good discussion on pumps and compressors
  • I don't work with scada much but this section was helpful
  • It's really nice that you talk about the design and allowable pressures
