January 31, 2013
Nine students, including employees of Phillips 66, TransCanada, Colonial, and Koch attended the January 29th and 30th Oil and Gas Pipeline Fundamentals class in Houston. Student critique forms included the following comments:
- I would strongly recommend this course to new/mid-level experienced people. Seeing the pipeline business from the ground up and learning the different segments fit together nicely.
- Very good section on hydraulics basics.
- Nice background to add to a recent control room visit for me.
- Being in the DRA business this is a great background course. Anyone entering a sales role in the group would benefit.
- This topic helped tie it all together for me (about Engineering and Design module).
- It was very educational to see the different profiles and the advantages of different leak detection techniques.
- The engineering and design section was extremely interesting to me. Very impressed with all that goes into pipeline and facilities.
- Great summary; helps provide a better understanding of maintaining the line and routine maintenance.
- Excellent - really interesting to hear about accidents, logistics, finance, and safety and how they affect pipeline maintenance
- Great content. Exactly what I was looking for.
