Classes
In PKD vernacular, classes are one or more lessons taught together. All classes are taught by Tom Miesner and there are three options, private classes, public classes, and video based classes.
Private Classes
Private classes consist of one or more lessons taught for one client. In the case of private classes, Tom Miesner and the client review available lessons and choose the combination of classes that best fits the client's needs and budget. In some cases clients request new materials which PKD can build for them. Once private classes are designed, they are taught either via our Zoom platform or via the client's platform, such as Teams. If the client requests, Tom can travel to the client's facility and teach the class in person in which case the client furnishes the room, projector, and refreshments.
Public Classes
Public classes consist of one or more lessons which are taught periodically by Tom in real time, via an internet based platform. PKD uses Zoom to teach public classes.
Video Classes
The same lessons are available as videos. In this case, the client licensees one of more lesson videos for unlimited internal noncommercial use. The lessons were was produced by PKD and consist of
- HD video of the lesson taught by Tom, and
- a pdf of the slides Tom uses to teach the lesson.
Typically, clients deliver these lessons through their knowledge management systems and use their own Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to facilitate each lesson. Video lessons are convenient and inexpensive as they allow unlimited use and the client's own SMEs facilitate the lesson or class. This approach optimizes the time of the SME by freeing them from preparing materials yet allowing them to "interpret" the lessons for the facilities and practices of the specific company.
