MARCH 22, 2022 8:30 - 10:00 - Oil and Gas MIDSTREAM FUNDAMENTALS
This lesson provides a broad overview of the oil and gas midstream industry. It starts with nomenclature and vocabulary to help the students better understand and communicate with industry veterans. It then reviews the prevalent theory of how oil and gas was formed to provide background for factors affecting operations. Finally, it covers the various subsectors or midstream, transportation, gas processing and treating, storage, and terminalling in non-technical language. The cost is $135.
MARCH 22, 2022 2:00 - 3:30 - Pipeline and OIL FACILITY EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENTS
This lesson contains pictures and illustrations, of the major pieces of equipment comprising oil pipelines and facilities. Centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, electric motors, variable speed drives, control valves, pressure relief valves, four types of meters, three types of provers, samplers, scraper launchers and receivers, automatic custody transfer unit, DRA injection skids, and tanks, are all explained in easy to understand nontechnical language. It is a companion class to the Pipeline Materials Class.
